Custom Threading Job

Executed precision internal and external threading on custom components for a local engineering workshop. The project involved manufacturing of threaded components for a specialized hydraulic press application including tie rods, adjusting nuts, and cylinder end caps.

This was a time-sensitive project requiring quick turnaround to minimize the client's production downtime. Our threading capabilities on manual and semi-automatic lathes allowed us to complete all components within the agreed timeline.

Components Manufactured:

• Tie Rods (6 units): M42 × 3 mm pitch external threading on EN8 steel rods, 1200 mm length, both ends threaded
• Adjusting Nuts (6 units): M42 internal threading using HSS tap, hexagon external profile, mild steel
• Cylinder End Caps (2 units): Internal threading BSP 2 inch, with O-ring groove and counterbore
• Studs (12 units): M24 × 2 mm pitch, double-end studs for flange mounting

Quality Control:

All threads were verified using thread plug gauges and thread ring gauges. Fit was checked and confirmed to be 6H/6g tolerance class as specified in the client's drawing.
