Hydraulic Cylinder Repair

Complete overhaul and reconditioning of hydraulic cylinders for a steel rolling mill's material handling system. The cylinders had suffered piston rod scoring, seal surface wear, and internal bore damage due to contaminated hydraulic fluid.

Our team performed comprehensive repair including chrome plating restoration of piston rods, bore honing, seal replacement, and pressure testing to restore the cylinders to original working condition.

Repair Scope:

• Piston Rods (4 units): Grinding of damaged surface, hard chrome plating, finish grinding to original diameter within 0.02 mm
• Cylinder Barrels (4 units): Internal bore honing to remove scoring, restore ovality, and achieve required surface finish
• Gland Covers: Thread repair, seal groove reconditioning, new wiper seals and O-rings installed
• Testing: 100% hydraulic pressure test at 1.5 times working pressure, leak test at working pressure

Result:

All four cylinders passed pressure testing with zero leakage. The client reported successful installation and normal operation of the hydraulic system with restored performance.
