Pump Shaft Manufacturing

Manufactured precision pump shafts for a chemical processing plant's centrifugal pump fleet. The shafts were required for replacement of corroded and worn pump shafts in various chemical transfer applications.

The chemical environment demanded careful material selection and superior surface finish to resist corrosion and ensure long service life. We manufactured the shafts from AISI 316L stainless steel with enhanced surface finish on seal and bearing areas.

Project Details:

• Pump Shafts: 12 units of various sizes for horizontal centrifugal pumps
• Material: AISI 316L Stainless Steel (1.4404)
• Diameter Range: 30 mm to 75 mm
• Length Range: 500 mm to 1500 mm
• Operations: Step turning, bearing seat machining (k6 tolerance), keyway cutting, thread cutting, surface grinding for seal area (0.4 Ra)

Testing:

All shafts underwent dimensional inspection, surface finish measurement, and material verification. PMI (Positive Material Identification) testing was performed to confirm grade of stainless steel.
